Chip Testing Overview - Overview

Chip testing is an essential part of the semiconductor manufacturing process, but how and why circuits are tested remains a mystery to many people who are not directly involved with the process. Soft Test is now offering a course designed to present an overview of component testing in a non-technical yet informative way. The information begins with a brief look at chip fabrication and introduces the various types of semiconductor technologies including digital, memory, analog and mixed signal circuits. The equipment used in production testing such as Automatic Test Equipment, wafer probe stations and automatic device handlers are discussed. Wafer test, Package test and Quality Assurance testing are the three most common test stages, why each test stage is necessary and what is accomplished each time a device is tested is explained.

Who should attend
Anyone interested in gaining an understanding of the semiconductor manufacturing and ATE test process. Anyone new to the Semiconductor or ATE Industries.
